"I’m Soul Trader, a Singer Songwriter Guitarist based in Adelaide.

Effects of COVID-19 is something we all have in common. For me personally it is losing local gigs, cancelling overseas tour plans and having to postpone the recording of my new studio album, but it is what it is.

For my part, I’m dealing with the present time, by not only looking after my own physical and mental health, but by staying connected with those around me, to provide them support, as we all navigate this difficult time.

As for music, I am focusing on things I can do in this situation, and with the extra time on my hands. Writing new songs, preproduction for my studio album, learning a new instrument, learning new skills, recording videos for social media, and doing live streams to connect with my audience. I’ve been approached by venues locally and overseas to work on live streams together. After my first two Facebook Lockdown Live Gigs I now have new fans around the globe, it’s amazing.

I’ve always tried to find the positives in situations, it reminds me of The Lord of Rings Quote “Frodo: ….I wish none of this had happened. Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”

There is no sport on, no social interaction, not even poker machines to play, so where do people turn? Music and the arts (yes, a lot of that is Netflix), but music provides a huge amount of joy for people, and now we can be here for them, and they are listing. This as an opportunity to give people that joy and help the world get through this.

Stay safe, look after yourself and those around you."
